By inviting European players each year to participate at the Sankei Cup, the Kansai Ki-in has established itself as an important supporter of European Go. This year Artem 1p achieved outstanding results at that tournament, which is good news for both us Europeans and Japanese Go fans and organisers. Therefore, Kansai Ki-in is again inviting players from abroad to take part in the Osaka Go Camp and the directly following Japan Go Congress.
Camp (25 June to 13 July): The 5th Osaka Go Camp offers a varied training programme for players of all levels. You can train with professionals and top amateur players in an intense, yet friendly atmosphere. The programme also includes sightseeing tours to historically and culturally important sites. More than 80 players participated this year at the Osaka Go Camp.
The discount of 5000 Yen will be applied if you complete registration before the end of February!
Congress (14-17 July): The 2nd Japan Go Congress is organised by the same team as the Osaka Go Camp and modelled after the format of European Go Congresses. Most camp participants this year rounded off their training trip with this event. Overall the Japan Go Congress counted more than 300 players, including around 100 from abroad.
The playing site, Takarazuka, is known for its quiet and luxurious life-style. Nevertheless, the price for the full congress including accommodation is affordable, starting at 35000 Yen (under 300€).
The schedule for both events allows European players to return to Europe in time for the EGC.
