Dear Go friends,

Steffi Hebsacker died on May 11, 2024 at the age of 56.

Most people know Steffi as the owner of Hebsacker Verlag and as a tireless tournament player who was present at so many tournaments large and small as a participant or with the Hebsacker stand.

I have known Steffi since 1995, when we first met at the EGC in Tuchola and it was not Go, but her passion for karate and martial arts that impressed me.

Her passion and will were also the start of Hebsacker Verlag. Who would have dared to found a publishing company and make a living out of spreading the game of Go? She shaped the German Go community and always maintained our friendship over 30 years because she was friendly to everyone and always found time for her friends.

Steffi was a person who loved and enjoyed life, and she would want us to continue doing so in the same spirit as her.

Live, Love and Play Go!
