Vienna International Go Tournament took place this week-end (May 28th - 29th) in Vienna, Austria. The tournament was held in its usual place, the Vienna Waldorf School. This agreeable area offers a lot of space for playing, but also accommodation and home-made meals for players.

Despite of reduction of prize money in comparison with previous years, the tournament was still very attractive to all the players for its nice location and big prizes. 69 players from 14 countries participate in the competition, including many strong players: one professional player, one 7 dan, four 6 dan and five 5 dan players. The top players were also attracted by the fact that this tournament was a Level C Grand Prix Bonus Point Tournament.

The winner was undefeated Pavol Lisy (1p) from Slovakia. The second place was won by Viktor Lin (6d), who lost only to Lukas Podpera (7 dan) and third became Balogh Pal (6d) who had the highest SOS out of 6 players having 3 wins. You can see all results here.

First two boards were broadcasted on KGS (under WIEN2016 and WIEN2016b) and live commentaries from Chinese professional Go Player Zhao Baolong 2p were also available.
