The European Go Federation has received the invitation of the Japan Pair Go Association for the World Junior Pair Go Championship (U-15). The tournament will be a parallel event to the 34th International Amateur Pair Go Championship, which will be held between August 7 (check-in) and August 11 (check-out), 2025, in Osaka-Kansai EXPO Messe “Wasse”.
One European Pair can be invited to the event.

Terms: the organizer will cover the full cost of accommodation, breakfast and lunch during the tournament. The airline ticket will be subsidized with 80.000 JPY (slightly less than 500 EUR). These terms apply to each player and an accompanying adult/parent.

Please read carefully the invitation and regulations for the World Junior Pair Go Championship (U-15) and the outline of the whole Pair Go competition in Osaka. Please carefully read these documents, as they contain important details about the event.

We want to emphasize three points:

• players must be younger than 15 on 10th August 2025

• dress code (especially the requirement to wear a national costume in some events)

• the cost of flight tickets, which is already much higher than usual because of EXPO

Since EGF should nominate a representative pair, please send the proposals for players satisfying the conditions and willing to participate by Wednesday, May 7, 2025, 12:00 CEST, by e-mail to [email protected].

The EGF Executive Committee shall review all proposals and select one pair (not necessarily with both players from a single country) based on the combination of the following criteria:

• participation in Pair Go events in Europe (at EYGC, EC, or European Pair Go Ch)

• strength (rank, EGD rating),

• diversity of countries who are going to represent Europe in all Pair Go events in Osaka.

In case that nominated players never played together, EGF is going to organize appropriate training using the Pandanet Pair Go platform.
