2nd Pisa International Wei‑qi Cup – A Grand Prix Tournament in the heart of Italy

The city of Pisa will once again welcome go players from across Europe for the 2nd Pisa International Wei‑qi Cup, taking place on 5–6 September 2026. The tournament is part of the EGF Grand Prix Circuit (Bonus level C).

The first edition proved a remarkable success, attracting nearly seventy players; we are confident the second edition will build on that momentum.

The tournament offers a total money prize pool of €1,700, with €600 awarded to the winner. There to give us support - not only financial - is the Pisa Confucius Institute. Besides the money prizes awarded to the first 7 players, prizes in kind will be generously awarded to participants, including several Go Magic vouchers.

Come for the Go, Stay for Italy

September is arguably the finest time of year to visit Italy. The summer heat softens into something far more pleasant: warm enough for the coast, comfortable enough to explore at leisure, avoiding the crowd of July and August. And Pisa is an ideal base: to give a couple of hits, Florence is just one hour away by train, while the beautiful walled city of Lucca is a mere twenty five minutes.
