Great news for European go lovers and fans of Amsterdam! Fan Hui 2p will be the guest of honour during this year's Amsterdam International Go Tourmament (AIGT). On Thurdsday 30th of May he will present a lecture about the AlphaGo Teaching Tool. Rob van Zeijst 7d will be present throughout the entire event as the official commentator of the tournament.
The AIGT is one of the EGF Bonus Point Tournaments and counts as Level B. For the European Go Database rating, the tournament counts as Level A: long thinking times of 90 minutes per person plus byo-yomi are a tradition of the Amsterdam tournament, and seven rounds of go make this tournament one of the longer ones in Europe.
The event will take place over four days in the European Go Centre, from 30th of May until 2nd of June 2019. The Amsterdam tournament hosts several side events like a screening of the documentary film AlphaGo, the DNM Rapid Tournament and simultaneous matches, and holds a total of €2125 in prize money, of which €325 for the top three female competitors.
