After four months of epic Sunday battles, the first Factorio Speed Go Championship has come to an end. The final brought together two of the strongest European players: 🇵🇱 Mateusz Surma 4p (European Champion, winner of a large amount of top European events in 2025) and 🇨🇿 Lukas Podpera 7d (reigning Czech Champion and winner of the other large amount of top European events in 2025) — and what a spectacular final it was.
The match between Mateusz and Lukas could hardly have been closer. Lukas forced a tie with a crucial victory in game four, despite Mateusz’s efforts to disrupt his lead through sharp endgame play, risking the life of his groups and fighting kos across the board.

Mateusz’s decision to postpone attacks on Lukas’s groups and launch an attachment invasion gave him a powerful fighting position. This ultimately led to the downfall of one of Lukas’s groups and secured the victory.
