The European Women's Go Championship took place in Koblenz. Twelve women from six countries fought for the title and there were many interesting games. A real highlight this time was that the first two boards were broadcast live on KGS and the first board was shown on EuroGoTV. The games were commented by Yoon Young Sun and Hong Seol Ki.
The winner of the European Women's Go Championship 2008 was Klara Zaloudkova (2d) from Czech Republic. The second place went to Manja Marz (4d) from Germany, who only lost against Klara in round 4. Four players got 3 points, so the tiebreaker had to bring the decision: third place went to Laura Avram (2d) from Romania.
