in August 1985.
The second World Youth Championships were held in August 1985 in Taipei. The event had 18 young players. Most were from Asia, but also there were two from Netherlands, one from Finland, two from America and one from Australia. Representing Europe were Bernd-Jan Built, Raymond Zwiers and Lauri Paatero. Winner was one of the strong youngsters from Korea.
A seperate event for the team coaches was a close fight, with Matthew Macfadyen of European losing the final by 1 point.
