The European Weiqi Grand Prix Finale is the last step of the Grand Prix Circuit 2025. This year, it takes place from the 8th to 11th of January in the China Cultural Centre of Stockholm, Sweden.
16 players participate in the event, having qualified by earning direct seats or points through Bonus Events of the 2025 Grand Prix Circuit.

System

The tournament is played in two stages.
1) Group stage

First, groups are made by seeding one player from each pot, in which players are ordered by won bonus points and rankings.
The first stage is a round robin with all players in a group playing with each other.

2) Final stage
Two players per group will qualify for the quarterfinals. The Final stage is a direct knock-out system.

The players

Some participants unfortunately faced difficult weather conditions and had to cancel on short notice. They were replaced by local players - thanks to the Swedish players for that! This had an impact on the pots.
You can find more information about the players on https://www.eurogofed.org/GP2025/gp_players.html and scrolling the EGF Facebook page for some longer introductions :)

Have a great event!!

Huge thanks to the China Cultural Center of Stockholm for the warm welcome, and to Charlie Akerblom for the help in hosting the event.

Thanks a lot to all the community watching the games and sending supports, and to the commentators for their amazing job!

Finally, thanks to Martin Stiassny (EGF ex-President), Tournament director who gave it all for this event, to Damir Medak (EGF Vice-President), for the live updates and help there as well, and to the players who managed to come despite difficult conditions!

Thanks to Milena Boclé (EGF Vice-President) for the communication part :)
