The 14th International Brno Tournament, a Bonus Point C class tournament, was held on the weekend from 4th to 6th September 2015. The tournament took place in Hotel Santon, Brno, Czech Republic. It attracted 122 players from 10 countries from which 21 players were 5 dan or stronger. Many top players had come because of big prices, first prize 1200 euro and the top 10 players in rating before the tournament had accommodation and entry fee paid by the organizers. Top two boards were broadcasted on KGS under accounts "Brno 2015a" and "Brno2015b". Some games finished by half a point.  Read more...

Who will study in China?

The 3rd Edition of the CEGO Academic System had already started on 1st of September 2015 in Beijing, China. Thanks to EGF, CEGO and Ge Yuhong Go Academy some of our top players can study Go/Weiqi from September 2015 until beginning of February 2016 in the 3rd Edition. EGC 2015 finished

The 59th WeiqiTV European Go Congress, held in Liberec, Czech Republic was finished by a Closing Ceremony on Saturday, 8th of August 2015. This was the first Congress where The European Championship had already finished after one week, therefore the second week was there for The Main Tournament and side tournaments such as The Omikron Rengo European Championship, 9x9 Tournament, Children Tournament, Ladies Tournament and Lightning Tournament.

Highlights of EGC first week

The 59th WeiqiTV European Go Congress has started on 25th, July, taking place at the Babylon center in Liberec, Czech Republic. This yearly Go “festival” along with the charming town has attracted more than nine hundreds players and guests this year to join the event. The tournament site itself offers a lot of activities, including Aguapark, bowling and games center. Annual General Meeting 2015, some Updates

This year's AGM was rather a calm one in comparison to the one last year. First the countries reps had to line up to get their voting power written on their voting ballot paper, bigger countries had 4 votes and the smaller ones only 1. In total there were 22 countries present, special guests like the board of the EGCC (European Go Cultural Center) and the representatives from the Nihon Kiin, China Qiyuan, IGF, AGF, CEGO and Mr. Ge Yuhong from the Ge Yuhong Academy.  Read more...

European Women Go Championship

EWGC 2015, Turkey, Ciraly, Kiyi Pansion, 10th -13th July

European Women Go Championship was held in Turkey this year. Organisers chose a very nice place in the middle of nature, in a National Park around Ciraly. Kiyi Pansion, where the tournament took place, is a cosy place situated just on the sea coast. It is known by producing their own food on bio-bases. Therefore, living bungalows are scattered across a big garden where you can also meet plenty domestic animals living freely in a harmony with people.  Read more...

Chinese Culture Center in Brussels

On Thursday 9th of July, the Belgian Go Federation together with representatives of the EGF, the IGF and the European Go Center were kindly invited to the first ever official event of the brand new Chinese Culture Center of Brussels. Located close to the European Parliament, this center is built in a renovated typical large house of Brussels. The official opening ceremony will take place in September and a website should be available by then.  Read more...
