After four successful seasons, we start SEYGO Tour 2023 with a live tournament in Vienna, just after the New Year. In February, we continue with the traditional Winter Go Festival in Vatra Dornei, where everything began in 2019. In the second half of March 2023, European Youth Go Championships will be held in Antalya, Turkey. Participants of EYGC collect SEYGO Points for final standings. The next SEYGO tournament will be held as a prelude to the 65th European Go Congress in Markkleeberg/Leipzig, July 20-21, 2023. The fifth edition of Summer Go Camp in Zaostrog will be a SEYGO event as well. For other SEYGO tournaments we are still waiting for the organizers.  Read more...

The Season Four of SEYGO Tour 2022 has been started with the Stage 1 on the Online Go Server in May 2022. The Stages 2 and 3 were played "live". For the first time, we had a SEYGO tournament as a prelude to the European Go Congress in July 2022 in Vatra Dornei, Romania. The next tournament was traditionally organized as a part of Summer Go Camp/Festival in Zaostrog, Croatia at the end of August 2022. The Stage 4 was played online in October 2022 on OGS. As usual, the total number of SEYGO points has been calculated including the participation in EYGC (March 2022) in Prague, Czechia, for all players who participate in any SEYGO tournament in 2022.  Read more...

After a very successful SEYGO Tour 2019, the International Organizing Team initially planned 6 events (+ 25th EYGC) to be counted for SEYGO Grand Prix 2020. The first three events were successfully held and then – the pandemics of COVID-19 spoiled the rest of our plans. The Stage 3 planned for July 2020, connected with European Go Congress 2020, had to be cancelled. The future of international face-to-face go tournaments heavily depends on safety of international travelling. Therefore, the International Organizing Team decided that the rest of the SEYGO Tour 2020 will be organized as a series of online tournaments.  Read more...

The fifth and final stage of the first season of the SEYGO Tour 2019 took place at the EPFL in Lausanne (Switzerland). The campus is located outside the city, with a beautiful view on the Lake Geneva. The choice of Lausanne for the venue of SEYGO Tour has an additional flavor: as the seat of the International Olympic Committee, Lausanne is the Olympic Capital of the World. The number of participants was balanced among three countries (12 players from Switzerland, 10 players from Romania, 8 players from Croatia) and among three age groups (8 players U20, 13 players U16, 9 players U12).  Read more...

The fourth stage of the first season of the SEYGO Tour 2019 took place in Vienna, Austria. The tournament was held on August 17-18, 2019, as the highlight of the Vienna Go Camp, attended by a group of young Chinese players combined by a group of strong European players. The organizers (Viktor Lin, Li Ting and Marcel Gruenauer) provided an excellent atmosphere in and around the Go7 club. There were only three players in the group U20. Elian Grigoriu, 5d from Romaina, won all the games of the first day and had to leave securing the first place. Yaroslav Malko, 1k from Ukraine, was the second, and Mirta Medak, 2d from Croatia was the third. The group U16 had only one player, exposing the weakness fo the system: it is quite strange to get the title of the winner, maximum number of SEYGO points and a valuable SEYGO Voucher without the need to win a single game. On the other hand, the group U12 is always extremely competitive. In the final game, Olesia Malko, 3k from Ukraine, edged a victory against Dragos Boldeanu, 2d from Romania, practically securing the top position in overall Tour 2019.  Read more...
