It has been a while since my last report about our training.
By now, studying at the school became a routine, I would say we settled in very well. Also, it seems that the school got more used to us and the students realised that even though we are Europeans, we are also just normal people.

From September 14th to September 18th, we went to a Chinese amateur tournament in Huai An, which is located about 250 km to the north-west of Beijing. This city only has a small population and the streets were almost empty most of the time; however, a lot of buildings were still under construction, so it seems the city is just being built right now. This gave the whole location a very special atmosphere which could hardly be found in any European city.

It was the second time that the European team took part in this league. The European Pro Championship 2018 in Vatra Dornei, Romania, was used to decide who would play for Europe, and the qualifiers were: Pavol Lisy 2p, Ilya Shikshin 2p, and me (Artem Kachanovskyi 1p). The last player was selected by the chinese sponsors of our team - Tsinghua University. They picked Mateusz Surma 1p, the hero of the last year's C League. The Iwamoto Awards is an international contest that rewards go projects that spread and promote the game. Anyone with a running go project can enter the competition. The top three contenders can win prizes of €1000, €500 and once again €500. The 2018 edition started on March 1 and will finish on May 31st.  Read more...
